Yearbook sneakpeak

The exact words for the Year 11 formal article...

There was a lot of hype and expectations after the Year 10 formal. This one was on a boat as well. What time was it... At around 5:30 or something I had gotten off the train at Wynyard, the closest station to King Street Wharf. Relying on a pre-loaded map on my iPod touch I had to find my way to Wharf Number 4. I thought I was pretty good at directions but it turned out I had been walking the complete opposite way for about 10 minutes without realising. After I had got to the wharf but the sun was dying. I kept saying to myself  “Where the hell is Number 4...” I could  barely see anything. Then I heard familiar voices and realised I was at the right place.

Everyone looked all so fancy and good. Girls were looking mighty fine in their dresses while guys like Akash were looking flash as heck. When it was time to board the boat, we got our names marked down and I think some people were even checked for alcohol.  I still remember the first song the DJ played; Jay Z - Thank You. As the boat started moving I actually heard people saying ridiculous things like “What? Is this how slow it goes...” as if they expected it to be like a speedboat.

The rest of the night was filled with chilling on top of the boat, eating, talking and dancing. There was Jason’s abnormally large mouth and Shao-Ting  always saying “IT’S TOO NOISY!” while heading up to the top of the boat. Following from Year 10’s formal we had the awards again with the same categories.
The winners were:
Captain: Samson Yau
Queen: Vanessa Lin
Best Dressed Male: Peter Nguyen
Best Dressed Female: Lilian Li

Also following from the last year’s formal were the excited group of dudes who went topless. It’ll probably happen again in our Year 12 formal. The last few hours of the formal consisted of pretty much everyone having a dance. I remember me and Raymond Tang’s failed attempt at starting those crazy dance train things. It didn't work, we only had like 5 passengers and I don’t think anyone even realised.

After that I just used my camera as an excuse to not dance. “Nah man, I’m taking photos!”. I think I’l use that excuse for the Year 12 formal...
