Random Rant

Today's topic are DSLRs. For those who don't know what a DSLR is, they are pretty much big black cameras that people associate with "professionals". DSLR's are harder to use than regular point and shoot cameras only because they can be used 100% manually while point and shoot cameras have everything automatic. What this means is the shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings can all be changed by the user and not the camera. DSLR users have the ability to compose a photo the way they want it depending on how they choose their settings.

Today's society is one where people now strive on technology. This technology is so easily available to people these days that they buy the latest technologies even if they don't need to. For example, things like this bugs me.

I have nothing against these people but it's their choice of using the camera! I mean, these cameras that they are using have so much potential but these guys decide to use it to take those trendy mirror shots most likely in AUTO mode. It bugs the hell out of me especially because their cameras are most likely better than mine. The potential that these cameras have are endless. There are a bunch of people in my grade who have better cameras than me but don't use properly! I watched a video somewhere of some guy talking about stuff like this. I can't remember the exact quote but it was something like "These cameras have endless possibilities and potential but rarely does anyone really unlock those abilities."

This is an example of a photo those could have taken instead of their mirror shots.

On a side note. I will be upgrading my own camera soon, maybe in 2 months or something. I will upgrade from a 2006 Canon 400D to a 2011 Canon 600D, a camera where I know one other person in our grade owns but does not use it well. I think I have changed my mind from a future career of Industrial Design to something more along the lines of filmography or photography.
